Leaves	The emerging leaves are rounded and green in colour, while the entire submerged part is reddish
Inflorescences	The inflorescences produced by the plants emerging from the water are covered with lilac-coloured flowers
Flowering period	August – September
Planting depth	It can live either in waterlogged soil, at a depth of -15 cm in pond banks, or submerged in an aquarium
