Water irises

Water irises are very decorative marsh plants to be grown in low water on the edges of the pond or moist soil.

Blooming is concentrated in 2 weeks in spring. Water irises end their vegetative cycle in summer, turning more yellow, but regain vigour in autumn, remaining green throughout the winter until spring.

Water iris is an excellent plant for phyto-purification, both for ponds, for natural pools and for phyto-purification systems.

Irises develop many and, above all, very long roots and thanks to these, oxygen is also released in depth, which is important for phyto-purification.

A very useful feature for phyto-purification systems is that irises maintain a higher vitality even during winter, whereas most other marsh plants go dormant.
